Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-moving accounting team in Salinas, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage a high volume of invoice activity with accuracy, urgency, and strong attention to detail. The position supports day-to-day payables operations in a busy environment and offers the chance to contribute immediately within a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities:
• Process large volumes of accounts payable transactions by reviewing invoice details, assigning proper codes, and preparing items for payment.
• Handle vendor and freight-related invoices with a focus on accuracy and timely completion to support ongoing business operations.
• Perform invoice matching and batching tasks while maintaining organized documentation for reference and audit support.
• Investigate billing discrepancies, follow up on missing information, and work with internal teams to resolve payment issues efficiently.
• Support payment processing activities, including ACH transactions and check run preparation, in accordance with established timelines.
• Use accounting systems effectively and adapt to Microsoft Dynamics 365 to complete daily accounts payable responsibilities.
• Partner with accounting and operational staff to keep workflows moving smoothly in a high-volume environment.• At least 3 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume processing environment.
• Hands-on experience with invoice coding, account coding, and general accounts payable procedures.
• Working knowledge of payment methods such as ACH and check run processing.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple deadlines.
• Comfort working in fast-paced settings that require strong organization and follow-through.
• Experience in agriculture or manufacturing is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are preferred.
