Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners during the upcoming 26/27 school year. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on elementary students in grades K-2, working specifically with a social and emotional caseload. You’ll collaborate with staff and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment in the Providence area.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Experience teaching or student teaching in an elementary school setting, preferably K-2
- Strong understanding of social and emotional learning techniques
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
- Collaborative approach in working with fellow educators, specialists, and families
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and review individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Deliver engaging instruction with a focus on social and emotional growth
- Employ data-driven progress monitoring and adjust interventions as needed
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Partner closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians on student progress and strategies
