Special Education Teacher - Providence, RI

Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners during the upcoming 26/27 school year. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on elementary students in grades K-2, working specifically with a social and emotional caseload. You’ll collaborate with staff and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment in the Providence area.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Experience teaching or student teaching in an elementary school setting, preferably K-2
• Strong understanding of social and emotional learning techniques
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
• Collaborative approach in working with fellow educators, specialists, and families
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and review individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
• Deliver engaging instruction with a focus on social and emotional growth
• Employ data-driven progress monitoring and adjust interventions as needed
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Partner closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians on student progress and strategies
