American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details\n- \n
- Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit \n
- Cares for obstetric patients 20+ weeks gestation, including labor management, vaginal and cesarean deliveries \n
- Handles OB emergency and triage evaluations \n
- Provides care for postpartum surgical patients such as tubal ligations \n
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM \n
- Full-time position with a 13-week assignment length \n
- Temp-to-perm opportunity available if department openings exist at contract end \n

- Active RN license in TX or compact state required \n
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required \n
- BSN preferred \n
- BLS certification required (AHA only) \n
- ACLS certification required (AHA only) \n
- NRP certification required \n
- Current certification required in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) \n
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent Perinatal setting experience preferred \n

- Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation \n
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families \n
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness \n
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided \n
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers \n
- New hires attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated staff member \n
- Completion of organizational entry competency validation and Perinatal Services-specific competency validation required \n
- Annual competency verification requirements must be completed \n
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration \n
- Previous CHRISTUS Health employees (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period prior to being submitted for a travel assignment \n
