Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Long-Term Acute Care unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Work in the LTAC unit of a short term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds
\n
• Unit cares for both dementia/autistic patients and acute medical patients
\n
• Patient population includes surgical patients requiring overnight stays, procedural observation patients, medical observation patients, and long length of stay patients
\n
• Patient ratios are 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights, and 1:5 on weekends
\n
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
\n
• Every other weekend shift required
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• Floating required between similar units within skill set
\n
• Uses Epic charting system
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active WA or compact RN license required
\n
• Current BLS certification required
\n
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
\n
• LTAC experience preferred
\n
• Epic charting experience required
\n
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
\n
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care
\n
• Experience with neurological and psychiatric conditions including CVA, mood disorders, and traumatic brain injury
\n
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
\n
• Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula use
\n
• Experience with renal failure and surgical drain management
\n
• Acute care experience required
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide nursing care to a mixed population of acute medical and long length of stay patients
\n
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
\n
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract
\n
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
\n
• Minimal RTO preferred, ideally under 7 days
\n
• Floating between various like units within skill set is a regular expectation
\n
