Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least three years of relevant nursing experience and an active Illinois RN license.

  • Hospital-based Operating Room unit
  • \n
  • 13-week assignment
  • \n
  • 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week
  • \n
  • Schedule runs 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • \n
  • Weekend shifts required
  • \n
  • Holiday shifts required
  • \n
  • Uses Epic EMR for documentation
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing
  • \n
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • \n
  • Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
  • \n
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • \n
  • Experience with OR suite preparation, patient positioning, and patient transport
  • \n
  • Experience providing surgical team support and PACU handoff
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Prepare OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
  • \n
  • Perform patient identification using two identifiers and safety timeouts before incision and before exiting the OR suite
  • \n
  • Position and prep patients for procedures using appropriate positioning aids and guidelines
  • \n
  • Support the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, cultures, and medications
  • \n
  • Transport patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provide handoff to receiving RN
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation for continuity of care
  • \n
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
  • \n
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • \n
