Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4x12-hour shifts | 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide direct patient care on an LDRP unit with couplet care, maintaining a 1:4 patient ratio
\n
• Perform and assist with sterile speculum exams including assessment of effacement, dilation, station, and presentation
\n
• Apply and interpret external and internal fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
\n
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
\n
• Float to assist other units as needed without taking independent assignments
\n
• Fulfill mandatory call requirements, including 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule and every other weekend
\n

Required Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
\n
• Prior travel nursing experience required
\n
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
\n
• Current BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications required
\n
• Proficiency with External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and internal fetal monitoring
\n
• Experience with LDRP and Mother/Baby patient populations
\n

Preferred Experience / Skills\n

\n
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
\n
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing and SBAR communication framework
\n
