Description\n

American Traveler seeks a Registered Nurse for a Radiation Oncology ambulatory clinic requiring MA RN licensure and documented radiation oncology experience.

  • Ambulatory clinic setting within a Radiation Oncology department
  • \n
  • External beam radiation therapy only
  • \n
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • \n
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • \n
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days as needed
  • \n
  • Uses Epic for electronic charting
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active MA RN license required (license required if applicable)
  • \n
  • Minimum of 1 year of documented Radiation Oncology experience required
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • OCN certification preferred
  • \n
  • Prior Epic charting experience required
  • \n
  • Experience with External Beam Radiation Therapy, IGRT, IMRT, 3D-CRT, and Stereotactic Radiotherapy
  • \n
  • Skilled in oncologic emergency management and symptom management for oncology patients
  • \n
  • Experience starting peripheral IVs and administering IV therapy/infusions preferred
  • \n
  • Travel experience generally required, though first-time travelers with radiation oncology experience will be considered
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to outpatient oncology patients receiving radiation therapy
  • \n
  • Perform patient assessments including skin integrity, nutritional status, and symptom management
  • \n
  • Monitor for and manage oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome and spinal cord compression
  • \n
  • Follow radiation safety precautions and infection control/PPE protocols
  • \n
  • Complete required pass/fail EKG and medication competency testing during orientation
  • \n
  • No more than 1 week of RTO permitted during the assignment
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
  • \n
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • \n
