American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN with prior travel and ICU experience for a 13-week assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure.

- Work in a 10-bed ICU \n
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00), with 36 or 48 hour options \n
- Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3 \n
- Epic charting system experience required \n
- \n
- Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, with NIHSS and TNCC preferred \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required \n
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, and PICC line care \n
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning \n
- Proficient in cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring \n
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure \n
- Skilled in CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols \n
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and Swan-Ganz monitoring preferred \n
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred \n
- \n
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions \n
- Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and procedural sedation administration/monitoring \n
- Complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing \n
- Complete onsite orientation modules averaging 4-6 hours for RNs \n
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted \n
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted \n
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler \n
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation \n
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted \n
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role \n
