American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical/Observation unit position requiring an active IL RN license and Epic charting experience with Level 1 Trauma background.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Medical/Observation unit (T6) of a hospital setting \n
- 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM \n
- 36 hours per week across 3 days per week \n
- No on-call requirements \n
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule \n
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday \n
- Float to similar units as needed \n
- Uses Epic charting system \n
- \n
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted) \n
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) \n
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required \n
- ASN required, BSN preferred \n
- Epic charting experience required \n
- Level 1 Trauma experience required \n
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills \n
- Basic computer knowledge including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers \n
- Strong critical thinking and independent judgment skills \n
- Multicultural sensitivity required \n

- Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, and intervention \n
- Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per facility policy \n
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient and family needs \n
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support integrated care \n
- Identify changes in patient status and respond appropriately \n
- Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety \n
- Attend at least 5 out of 6 staff meetings annually \n
- Must maintain documentation standards as evidenced by passed quarterly chart audits \n
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered \n
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract \n
- Previous Carle Health contingent workers must have completed a 6-month break in service if they were on assignment for more than 1 year \n
