American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an active CA RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, plus at least 2 years of ICU experience.

- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of an acute care hospital setting \n
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM \n
- Every other Saturday/Sunday weekend rotation required \n
- Holiday coverage as needed \n
- Uses Epic charting system \n
- \n
- Active CA RN license required \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required \n
- PALS certification required within 180 days of hire \n
- TNCC certification required within 180 days of hire \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required \n
- Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred \n
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care \n
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning (ETT, NT) \n
- Experienced in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics \n
- Experienced in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition \n
- Experienced in stroke management, post-craniotomy, and post-neurosurgical care \n
- Preferred experience with CABG and post-cardiac surgery care, Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring \n
- Preferred experience with GI surgery, phlebotomy, and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun) \n
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration \n

- Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, care planning, and coordination of transitions of care \n
- Develop and implement care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors \n
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through effective communication \n
- Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations to ensure optimal patient outcomes \n
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the local pay rate \n
- Returning employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler \n
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract \n
- Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day \n
- Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing \n
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates \n
