Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Clinical Research Nurse II for an Oncology clinical trials position requiring an active MA RN license and 3-5 years of research or clinical research experience.

  • Position based in the Cancer Care Center of a hospital setting, supporting the Cancer Clinical Trials Program in Hematology and Medical Oncology
  • \n
  • Follows and evaluates 4-6 patients per day, 4 days per week (16-24 patients weekly) on active clinical trials
  • \n
  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to start as early as 7am if visits begin early
  • \n
  • No weekends or major holidays required
  • \n
  • Hybrid schedule depending on patient scheduling needs
  • \n
  • Utilizes REDCap database for data input, analysis, and reporting
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active MA RN license required
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing required from an accredited program
  • \n
  • 3-5 years of research or clinical research experience required
  • \n
  • Interventional full-cycle clinical trial experience preferred, ideally in cancer, amyloidosis, hematology, or sickle cell
  • \n
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web browsers required
  • \n
  • Strong organizational, communication, and patient education skills required
  • \n
  • Knowledge of research regulations and compliance, including Protection of Human Subjects, required
  • \n
  • Experience with grant writing, IRB submissions, data management, and study coordination preferred
  • \n

  • Reports to the Medical Director of the Cancer Clinical Trials Program and the Administrative Director in Hematology and Medical Oncology
  • \n
  • Works closely with providers and clinical research coordinators to identify eligible patients and manage informed consent for open clinical trials
  • \n
  • Coordinates scheduling of laboratory and radiographic assessments, admissions, and clinic visits for study patients
  • \n
  • Provides protocol education to patients and families, adapting communication based on age, cultural, and individual needs
  • \n
  • Documents patient observations and communicates findings to protocol investigators and attending physicians
  • \n
  • Administers medications and completes orders for required specimen analysis as part of study protocol
  • \n
  • Collaborates with infusion, radiation, and surgical nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • \n
  • Serves as a resource for protocol in-service training and maintains evidence-based nursing practices
  • \n
  • Candidates should live locally or be willing to relocate permanently to the Boston area
