American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a VA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of OR experience.

- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting \n
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM \n
- Rotational weekend call required, with weekday call also possible on a rotational basis \n
- Performs a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and vascular procedures \n
- Utilizes robotics systems including Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System \n
- Uses Epic charting system \n
- \n
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in-hand at time of submission \n
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required \n
- Required certifications: AHA BLS \n
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, CNOR \n
- Epic charting experience required \n
- Teaching hospital experience preferred \n
- BSN required for international travelers \n
- Must be willing to trim or remove facial hair to meet CDC fit testing guidelines \n
- Must complete drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to repeat testing if needed \n

- Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and vascular procedures \n
- Assist with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures \n
- Perform universal protocol (time out) procedures, specimen handling/labeling, and wound management \n
- General orientation begins on Sundays, including online computer-based learning modules \n
- Modules are non-billable and average 4-5 hours, completed during orientation \n
- Candidates must reside 100 miles or more from the hospital's service area; local candidates within this radius are not accepted \n
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on the candidate \n
