Typical Populations/Cases: Cardiac, Telestroke Program.
\nWeekends: Every other to every 3rd.
\nHolidays: In rotation with team.
\nScrubs: Black or Charcoal Gray.
\nOrientation: 2 shifts with preceptor.
\nBeds/Trauma Bays: 2 Triage, 5 Treatment, 1 Trauma Bay.
\nPsych/Seclusion Rooms: No.
\nNurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4.
\nFloating: Not typically; may have Med Surg holds.
\nEMR: EPIC.
\nShift Times: 6-6.
\nTele/Monitor Techs? GE equipment, hard-wired in room and at the nurses’ station.
\nPatients/Day? ~20 (influx during flu season).
\nCharge Nurse? Yes.
\nNurse Aides? Yes (1 day shift, 1 night shift).
\nLab? Both Lab Techs and RNs draw labs.
\nRNs must have strong IV skills.
\nRRTs? Yes, 24/7.
\nPhysicians? Yes, 24/7.
\nPharmacy? Yes, 24/7.
\nSecurity? Yes, at ER entrance 24/7.
