Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift role floating between the ED and Observation Unit, requiring AZ or compact RN licensure and at least 2 years of ED experience.

  • Emergency Department setting with floating between ED and CDU (Observation Unit)
  • \n
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
  • \n
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • \n
  • General ED serving combined adult/pediatric population
  • \n
  • Meditech charting system, preferred experience but not required
  • \n
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required
  • \n
  • Orientation held every Monday, with blocked scheduling not guaranteed
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active AZ or compact RN license required
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • \n
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
  • \n
  • ESI certification preferred
  • \n
  • Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
  • \n
  • Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, Level I, and Level II trauma settings preferred
  • \n
  • Skilled in pediatrics, IV therapy/phlebotomy, respiratory care, neurological, and psychiatric emergency management
  • \n
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and trauma/orthopedic care
  • \n
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • \n
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
  • \n
  • Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
  • \n
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
  • \n
  • Travel pairs accepted
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
  • \n
  • Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
  • \n
  • RTO must be minimal and holiday coverage is required
  • \n
