Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: IHS facility in Gallup, NM 87301
Shift: Coverage may include days, nights, weekends, and Federal holidays. Schedule determined by facility staffing needs.
Contract Length: 6 months (Option to extend)
Estimated Start Date: Pending Award and Completion of Credentialing Process
Compensation:

- Hourly Rate: $42.00 \n
- Travel weekly stipends: $1,246 \n
- Please keep in mind that payroll is processed on a biweekly basis. \n
Benefits:

- Health and Welfare: $5.09/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week) \n
- PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service \n
- Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked \n
- 11 Paid Holidays: Following the Government calendar throughout the year \n
Job Description:
\nWe are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients of all ages in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will support critical care, emergency, and inpatient services while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with IHS standards.
Requirements:
- \n
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care Respiratory Therapy experience \n
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC \n
- Current, active, and unrestricted state licensure, if required \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA \n
- NRP certification preferred (may be required based on assignment) \n
- Experience with ventilator management, arterial blood gases, airway management, and critical care \n
- Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements \n
Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Assess and provide respiratory care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients \n
- Administer oxygen therapy, respiratory medications, and aerosol treatments \n
- Set up, monitor, and manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and other respiratory equipment \n
- Perform arterial blood gas collection and assist with airway management and emergency response \n
- Conduct respiratory assessments, monitor patient progress, and educate patients and families \n
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation and comply with IHS, infection control, and patient safety standards \n
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care \n
