You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Attends to the personal care needs of residents in a timely mannerProvide assistance with ADLs as requested by residents or directed by supervisorPerforms duties in alignment with FMI, HIPAA, property objectives and state licensure guidelines.Monitors the safety and well-being of residentsReports changes in resident status, health or otherwise, to supervisorAttends, participates and contributes to monthly staff meetings addressing resident and departmental needsResponsible for cleaning common areas, occupied and vacant apartments in accordance with FMI policies and proceduresAttend care plan meetings as assignedDemonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitorsPerform all other duties, as requestedTALENT:Relationship BuildingDemonstrate friendliness and enthusiasmBuild relationships with all types of peopleHigh energy and upbeatAbility to foster teamworkClient orientedExecutingAbility to organize and prioritize Detail oriented and follow throughSelf-starter and independent workerStrategic ThinkingSolve problems effectivelyCreative in coming up with options and solutions for efficiencyInfluencingAbility to communicate clearly and effectivelyEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:One year experience in geriatric health or retirement facilitySix months experience in a long-term care environment preferredMust possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalentMust have valid CPR and First Aid certificationCurrent Medication Administration certification from designated state agencyWORK ENVIRONMENT:Moves intermittently during working hoursIs subject to frequent interruptionsIs involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etcWorks beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessaryIs subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminantsIs subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virusesMay be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicalsPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENT:Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facilityMust meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a mental and physical examinationMust possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully metMust be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feetMay be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situationsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, Gender/Minority/Veterans/Disabled.
