Childcare Provider

SYNERGY HomeCare is seeking experienced child care professionals to provide in-home backup child care for families throughout Morris, Somerset, and Sussex Counties. Our caregivers support working families when their regular child care arrangements are unavailable.

Important Scheduling Information

This position uses an automated staffing system. Caregivers are offered assignments based on their availability, qualifications, location, and caregiver profile (attributes).

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Keep your availability schedule accurate and up to date.

• Be willing to receive assignments through our automated staffing system.

• Accept assignments that match your stated availability, travel area, and qualifications.

• Understand that the more flexible your schedule and travel preferences, the more opportunities you will receive.

This position is best suited for caregivers looking for weekday work who can maintain reliable availability.

Job Details

• Assignments typically last 4–10 hours per day.

• Most caregivers work 3–5 days per week.

• Expected hours generally range from 15–30 hours per week, depending on your availability and willingness to accept assignments.

• Monday through Friday availability is required.

• Assignment schedules and family locations will vary from week to week.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

• Plan age-appropriate activities and play.

• Prepare healthy meals and snacks.

• Encourage healthy habits and assist with hygiene and toilet training.

• Perform light household tasks related to the children, including dishes, children's laundry, and toy cleanup.

• Assist with homework when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience with infants through elementary-aged children.

• Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.

• Available at least 2–5 weekdays, with greater Monday–Friday availability resulting in more assignment opportunities.

• Availability between 8:00 AM–6:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM is strongly preferred.

• Must be willing to participate in our automated staffing system and accept assignments based on your availability, location, and qualifications.

• Dependable, punctual, and professional.

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

• Verifiable professional references.
