Junior Credit Analyst

Credit | Banking

Reports to: Credit Risk Manager

This position does not offer remote access. It is an in-office position located in Winsted, CT.

Summary of the Role

The Junior Credit Analyst performs financial and credit analysis activities that support the Bank’s commercial lending function. This role assists with underwriting, risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory compliance while developing expertise in commercial lending and credit administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform credit analysis and risk rating reviews for commercial loan relationships
  • Prepare written analyses of borrower financial statements for new and existing commercial loans
  • Create financial spreads, calculate comparative ratios, and prepare credit approval memorandums within the Abrigo LOS platform
  • Monitor compliance with Bank policies, lending procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct research on borrowers, industries, and market conditions using available resources and publications
  • Assist with portfolio monitoring, concentration analysis, and trend reporting
  • Participate in lending, committee, and management meetings as appropriate
  • Identify potential policy exceptions and regulatory compliance concerns
  • Maintain current knowledge of commercial lending practices, regulatory developments, and economic conditions
  • Represent the Bank through professional, industry, and community activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques

Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills


Qualifications continued..

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to learn credit underwriting, risk assessment, and commercial lending practices

Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and financial reporting tools

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

Regular access to confidential customer financial, loan, and deposit information

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
