Job Description

When you join our team you won't just be 'going to work'. You'll be helping grow a longstanding business while receiving the recognition and support your commitment to professional growth deserves.

If you're looking for a place where your technical judgment matters, your work has visible community impact, and your career path can grow with the business, this could be a great next step.

We believe where you work matters. Our Sacramento office offers a collaborative atmosphere with plenty of natural light, an on-site fitness center with showers, complimentary loaner bikes to enjoy nearby trails, great restaurants within walking distance, a game room, putting green, and an outdoor BBQ area for team celebrations.

This role is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program.

What you'll do:

  • Evaluate, plan, and design water and wastewater treatment systems that support safe, reliable, and sustainable community infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, master plan reports, technical studies, specifications, calculations, and design deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance, quality control, and design support to project teams while helping mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Support project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables to keep regional projects moving efficiently.
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams on permitting, compliance, and project delivery.
  • Perform and/or lead construction observation, construction management, submittal reviews, RFI responses, field coordination, and site documentation.
  • Contribute to planning, design, and construction support for treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, storage, and related water/wastewater infrastructure.

What you'll bring:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • 4+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally with a focus on municipal water, wastewater, recycled water, treatment, conveyance, or utility infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with water and wastewater projects, including an understanding of technical standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to high-quality project delivery.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • Work that matters: design infrastructure that supports clean water, public health, environmental protection, and resilient communities.
  • Work alongside experienced leaders in a culture that values growth, mentorship, and giving employees the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of a well-established local practice.
  • Flexible schedule that supports both client service and work-life balance.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and HSA options.
  • Generous PTO to recharge and maintain balance.
  • 401(k) plan with employer contribution.
  • A chance to grow with a company recognized for strong client retention, strategic growth, and continued expansion in the AEC industry.
