Machine Press Set-Up Operator

Location: Spring Valley, IL
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Press Set-Up Operator to join our production team in Spring Valley. This position is responsible for preparing and setting up press machines for production runs by retrieving, transporting, and installing the correct tooling for upcoming jobs.

While this is not a dedicated forklift position, forklift operation is a daily part of the job. Candidates must have prior forklift experience and be comfortable safely transporting tooling between facilities and production areas.

Essential Responsibilities

Set up press machines for scheduled production jobs.
Retrieve tooling from the tooling shop located across the street and transport it to production areas using a forklift.
Install and change tooling as required for production runs.
Verify tooling and machine set-ups meet job specifications.
Assist with machine adjustments and set-up changes to ensure efficient production.
Work closely with supervisors and production personnel to maintain workflow and meet production schedules.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Prior forklift experience required.
Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or machine set-up experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tooling and production equipment.
Ability to follow work orders and production schedules.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, move, and position tooling and production materials.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery and production equipment.
Ability to safely operate a forklift on a daily basis.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
