Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech Pathologist with an active SLP license and 1+ year of experience for a rehab/ortho hospital setting.
Details
- Hospital-based Physical Therapy Rehab - Ortho unit
- Provides services to patients with speech and language disorders
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- 32 hours per week
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably in a medical or clinic setting
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association that will not expire prior to start
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment and frequent computer use
- Critical thinking, decision-making, and time management skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record if driving is required for the role
Additional Information
- Participate in developing speech therapy plans of care for patients
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to evaluate functioning and communication ability
- Communicate with physicians before starting care and as needed throughout treatment
- Implement individualized care plans
- Provide education and instruction to team members, patients, and families
- Document care accurately and timely to maintain patient medical records
- Returning employees must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
