Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 3+ years of experience for a 13-week contract in a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving a predominantly Native American population in rural Northwestern Arizona.
Details
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule
- Inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services, with weekend rotation for inpatient coverage
- Patient population spans all ages, from birth through geriatric
- Specialty services include wound care, prosthetic and orthotic clinic, geriatric clinic, high school clinic, functional clinic, spinal cord clinic, and assistive technology/adaptive equipment evaluation and treatment
- Serves a 4,400 square mile service area, functioning as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
- 73-bed hospital offering comprehensive inpatient/outpatient services including emergency care, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, and more
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of physical therapy experience required
- Bachelor's degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program required
- Valid, current, full, and unrestricted PT license in any U.S. state, D.C., or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Must meet credentialing requirements for Medical Staff privileges
- Fingerprinting must be completed and cleared prior to start
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include PT evaluation and treatment across inpatient and outpatient settings, program management, policy and procedure development, quality improvement, risk management, staff education, and Joint Commission preparation
- New orientation cohorts begin every two weeks
- COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
- Facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Navajo Nation; the local community is culturally diverse with Navajo, Hopi, Southern Paiute, Anglo, Hispanic, and African American residents
- Facility-provided housing may be available but is not guaranteed; a housing application must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start date
