Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Trauma 1 and Stroke Center, requiring proficiency in Neuro and Body IR procedures with biplane radiography units.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology department at a Trauma Level I and Stroke Center
  • Handles outpatient and inpatient procedures for adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients of all acuities
  • 2 Biplane rooms, 2 Single Plane rooms, and a dedicated US room
  • Department staffed with 5 Body IR physicians and 3 Neurointerventional physicians, with 9 IR techs when fully staffed
  • Uses Siemens fluoro and Phillips US equipment
  • Charting is done in Cerner Powerchart with McKesson PACS
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM with a rotating day off
  • Call requirements include 1-2 days per week and 1 weekend per month
  • 2 techs on call each shift, a primary and secondary
  • Mandatory floating may apply per facility policy

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology
  • ARRT-R certification and BLS required; ARRT Advanced certification preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • MO or Compact license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Proficiency supporting Neuro and Body Interventional Radiology procedures using single and biplane radiography units
  • Experience with procedures including Y90, TIPS, chemoembolization, UFE, PAE, trauma, stroke, carotid stenting, drains, biopsies, LPs, kyphoplasty, line and port placement, filter placement, peripheral stenting, AV fistula declot/stenting, and PE/DVT treatment
  • Experience with angioplasty, chest tube placement, embolization, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, paracentesis, stent placement, thoracentesis, and vascular studies
  • Experience with carotid angiography, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, vertebroplasty, and other neurological procedures
  • Experience with genitourinary procedures including catheter/drain exchange, nephrostomy, percutaneous stone extraction, renal artery stent placement, and ureteral stent placement
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

  • Support Neuro and Body Interventional Radiology procedures across a full range of patient acuities and age groups
  • Facility operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with rotating shifts and holiday coverage required
  • Must be able to work during inclement weather when required
  • Role involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 10 days
  • Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate, but must live at least 75 miles from the facility for the standard travel rate
  • Returning travelers do not require re-orientation if returning within 18 months
  • Non-billable training modules averaging 4-6 hours are completed during orientation and annually
