Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience and BLS/ACLS certification to support a high-volume invasive cardiac catheterization lab.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab setting
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Average of 25-35 invasive cath procedures performed per day
- Procedures include balloon angioplasty, PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, and rotablator atherectomy
- Additional procedures include CSI atherectomy, IABP, ACIST, OCT, IVUS, Angiojet, radial/ulnar/femoral access, EP ablations and studies, and PV lab procedures such as fistulograms and thrombectomy
- Diagnoses treated include coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and cardiac arrhythmias
- Uses EPIC-CUPID and XPER Witt for hemodynamic monitoring
- Uses fluoroscopy and Philips equipment
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call required as needed
- Floating required to any Cone Health campus in the event of a COVID surge
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- RCIS or RCES certification strongly preferred but not required
- License required if applicable
- Community hospital experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Proficiency in scrub and EKG lead placement
- Experience with venous access, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and vascular studies
- Skilled in equipment setup, prepping access sites, and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias
- Must be able to pass a Pass/Fail EKG compliance exam with up to two attempts allowed
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for invasive cardiac and EP procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and conscious sedation support
- Perform adjunct cardiac intervention therapies and assist with diagnostic and interventional catheterizations
- Support EP lab procedures including device implants, ablations, and EP studies
- Support PV lab procedures including fistula access, lower extremity runoff studies, and pedal access
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rate option available
