Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role requiring ARRT-R certification and 1+ year of IR experience.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit with 50/50 split between inpatient and outpatient cases
- Patient diagnoses include biopsies, GI, GU/renal, peripheral vascular, pulmonary, CT, endovascular lab, and stent placement
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call required: 2 full weekends in a 6-week period and 9 weeknights
- Floating required to First Hill Campus for regular shifts and call coverage
- Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic for documentation
Requirements
- ARRT-R and BLS certification required
- WA state license required, if applicable
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in procedures such as chemoembolization, embolization, angioplasty, stent placement, RFA of the liver, and vascular closure systems
- Experience with Y-90 chemo delivery, GI bleeds, TPA, vein sampling, phase 2 recovery, and cryoablations required
- Proficient in venous access, central line care/maintenance, and PICC line management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and use of rapid response/code teams
- Comfortable working with fluoroscopy equipment from Philips and Siemens, plus ultrasound and PACS systems
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, EKG lead placement, prepping access sites, sterile field maintenance, and room circulation
- Works within a Hybrid OR and Special Procedures setting
- Maintains and stocks IR equipment and supplies, ensuring infection control compliance
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Former Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies for travel rate eligibility
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
