Job Summary:
A CT Technologist position is available in a healthcare facility located in GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado. The technologist will perform a variety of computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment, clinical proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols to produce high-quality imaging results. The position involves maintaining technical competency, operating advanced CT equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Associate degree; ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography (ARRT R (CT)); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; licensure in Colorado; 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting; 1-2 years of acute care experience preferred
- Demonstrates understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency.
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating CT equipment with strong understanding of CT imaging techniques and protocols.
- Demonstrates knowledge of contrast administration protocols, including contrast injector operation.
- Proficient in electronic imaging functions including viewing, transferring, and manipulating images.
- Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and sterile environment for patients and staff.
- Assists and instructs students and other radiology technologists on exam protocols and procedures.
- Responsible for patient education, comfort, and safety during exams, including contrast media administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of additional CT experience
- 1-2 years of healthcare setting experience
- Fluoroscopy certification (Colorado-specific requirement)
