Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week assignment in a cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab setting.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab, with potential exposure to the electrophysiology (EP) lab
- Adult patient population
- Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, IABP and Impella placement, PPI, EP studies, and vascular access/closure procedures
- Uses GE Innova IGS equipment
- 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, or alternatively 4x9 hour day shifts
- Call required 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required, cardiac cath experience preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and ARRT-R certifications
- License required if applicable
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Experience with EKG lead placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
- Familiarity with electrophysiology, vascular, or interventional radiology procedures preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Proficient in sterile technique, infection control, and use of isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment setup, prepping access sites, and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias
- May serve as room circulator or scrub to maintain sterile field during procedures
- First-time travelers will be considered with 2+ years of relevant Cath Lab experience
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role such as a Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel assignments at any of its facilities
- RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines
