Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for a combo IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab.

Details

  • Work in a combination IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab with an approximate 80% IR and 20% other procedure split
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Diagnoses/procedures include device implants such as PPM and ICD
  • Perform scrub, circulate, and telemetry monitoring duties for IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
  • Special equipment includes GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella
  • 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Call requirement of minimum 7 days per month, typically two call days per week for two weeks each month plus one call weekend per month
  • Additional on-call coverage may be required and is rotated equitably among staff
  • Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time varies by procedure type
  • Call team consists of three staff members, including one RN
  • No floating requirement
  • Weekend requirement of every third weekend

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required, with at least 90% IR experience
  • ACLS, BLS, and ARRT or RCIS certification required (license required if applicable)
  • ARRT Advanced Cert, RCES, and RCIS with medical experience preferred
  • Skilled in scrub, circulate, and telemetry monitoring
  • EKG lead placement skills preferred
  • Experience with carotid stenting, catheter/drain exchange, internal/external biliary drainage, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, renal artery stent placement, and ureteral stent placement
  • Experience with diagnostic cardiac cath lab procedures including left and right heart catheterization
  • Experience with abdominal/pelvic procedures such as mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • Experience with kyphoplasties and biopsies preferred
  • Medication administration is performed by RN only

Additional Information

  • Assist providers in performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Unit orientation is 40-80 hours, with techs starting directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is complete
  • No holiday RTO available for this role; must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval and no RTO is allowed during the first week of assignment
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approval
  • Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units and disclosed at submission
  • NC or Compact license pending is acceptable for consideration
