Job Summary:
The CT Technologist position is based in Hackensack, New Jersey. This role involves performing computer tomography procedures and supporting interventional and therapeutic imaging techniques. The technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize diagnostic outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, with Sundays and Mondays off.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program; High school diploma or equivalent; NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Diagnostic Radiography License; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certified Radiographer (R) license; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Six months CT experience; Knowledge of Epic and hospital HIS/RIS systems.
- Responsible for performing complex CT procedures utilizing professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical histories, preparing and reviewing contrast questionnaires, administering contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, and verifying exam prescriptions.
- Responsible for patient preparation, including shielding and immobilization, administering contrast doses, and providing clear explanations and instructions to patients.
- Performs venipuncture and monitors patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Ensures proper image quality and patient safety in accordance with standards.
- Maintains scheduled shifts, including overtime, and participates in on-call assignments as needed.
- Uses appropriate techniques, reviews outside studies, and provides exam copies to patients and physicians.
- Adheres to hospital policies on identification, behavior, attendance, and punctuality.
- Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls at least 50 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
- Modifies care based on patient needs, including communication tailored to age, culture, and impairments.
