Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting requiring at least 1 year of outpatient PT experience.
Details
- Outpatient physical therapy clinic setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Treats a range of orthopedic and neurologic conditions including post-op cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgeries, total hip and knee replacements, low back pain, and cervicalgia
- Also treats neurologic conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and muscular dystrophy
- Utilizes clinic modalities and exercise equipment
Requirements
- State license required if applicable, must be obtained and in good standing before start date
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an outpatient setting required
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education required
- Assessment and body mechanics skills required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients per physician referral or direct access
- Supervises physical therapy assistants and PT technicians in following the plan of care
- Performs specialized evaluations including Work Hardening, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and post-offer testing such as WorkSTEPS or APET
- Conducts ergonomic evaluations and job analyses for injured workers
- Communicates regularly with referring physicians and rehab nurses regarding patient progress
- Assists with scheduling, referrals, and basic administrative duties as needed
- May participate in community events and business development activities on behalf of the clinic
- Open to first-time travelers
