Job Summary:
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist will perform specialized invasive cardiac procedures in a clinical setting located in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. This role involves assisting physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including the placement of temporary and permanent pacemakers and managing circulatory support devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella devices. The technologist will support the team in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, and data analysis to ensure high-quality cardiac care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Must have two (2) years of prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area within an acute care hospital. Must possess AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Radiologic Technologist (RCIS) certifications. Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technologist, radiologic technologist, or applied science program. Must have familiarity with manfold system, Scrub assist, and table-side assistance, along with proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience in invasive cardiology procedures and advanced certifications are advantageous.
- Additional Information: The role requires performing a minimum of lifting 40 pounds, pushing and pulling at least 100 pounds, and standing for at least 4 hours daily. The technologist will recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias, assist with vascular access, and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards. On-call responsibilities and adherence to sterile operative techniques are essential components of the position.
