Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level III Trauma acute care hospital, requiring ARRT (CT) and SCRQSA (CT) certification with 1+ year of experience.

Details

• Level III Trauma, Acute Care Hospital setting with 286 staffed beds
• CT department performing inpatient, outpatient (Friday only), ER, and scheduled interventional CT cases (Friday only)
• Patient population ranges from newborn through geriatrics
• Evening shift, 4x10 hours, Monday-Thursday from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM
• On-call rotation required among staff members, Friday 5 PM through Monday 6 AM, approximately every 4-5 weeks
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities required
• Epic charting preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist required
• ARRT (CT) certification required
• SCRQSA (CT) certification required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• South Carolina radiologic technology license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of start (pending license not accepted)
• Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology, or completed a student clinical rotation with ARRT certification by end of rotation
• Skills required include starting peripheral IVs, contrast media preparation/administration, biopsies, and PACS system proficiency
• Radiation badge required, to be provided by the assigned staffing agency

Additional Information

• Perform high quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols for physician interpretation
• Reports to the CT manager and director of radiology
• On-call responsibilities include covering for call-outs or assisting during high-volume trauma situations
• Teal top and black bottom scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted depending on the position
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to confirming the assignment
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
