Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience and ARRT-R certification for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a hospital setting
- Patient caseload is approximately 50% inpatient and 50% outpatient
- Patient diagnoses include biopsies, GI, GU/renal, peripheral vascular, pulmonary, CT, and endovascular procedures
- Required procedures include Y-90 chemo delivery, GI bleed intervention, TPA administration, vein sampling, Phase 2 recovery, and cryoablations
- Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic for documentation
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call requirement includes 2 full weekends within a 6-week period and 9 weeknight calls
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience preferred
- Current BLS and ARRT-R certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- WA state license required (license required if applicable)
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, IVC filter placement/removal, liver biopsy, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and various angiography procedures
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) required
- Experience with venous access, PICC line care, and central venous line management required
- ERCP and percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram experience preferred
- Thrombolysis/thrombectomy experience preferred
- Must be proficient in sterile technique, infection control, and use of isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, room circulation, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, prepping access sites, and accurate patient monitoring
- Must be able to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias during procedures
- Works with fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, Siemens, and Philips imaging equipment
- Responsible for maintaining equipment and stocking supplies
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former Providence-affiliated permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
