Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist for a first-timer-friendly assignment requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and ARRT-R certification.
Details
- Work in a Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, with additional Electrophysiology (EP) Lab exposure preferred
- Adult patient population
- Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, IABP and Impella placement, permanent pacemaker insertion, EP studies, and cardioversion
- Additional vascular procedures include central venous access/port placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- Uses GE Innova IGS imaging equipment
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM (36-hour scheduling option of 4x9 hours may be considered, no 3x12 schedules)
- Call required 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, cardiac cath experience preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and ARRT-R certifications required
- Experience in Electrophysiology, Vascular, or Interventional Radiology preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in accurate monitoring, EKG lead placement, vascular access site prep, sterile field maintenance, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Familiarity with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, infection control, and sterile technique required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Role involves scrubbing, room circulation, and equipment setup for cardiac catheterization procedures
- Responsibilities include recognition and interpretation of life-threatening arrhythmias and dysrhythmias
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Accepts local candidates at the same rate
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
- Former employees eligible to return as travelers after a 6-month separation from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this facility
- RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
