Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Home Health position requiring 1+ year of home health experience and an active HI license.
Details
- Home health setting serving geriatric patients in Maui, Hawaii
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Documentation completed using HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB)
- Productivity requirement of 25 units per week
- Occasional floating to cover Oahu, Kauai, and/or Big Island may be required, with float expenses paid
- 16-week assignment length
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of home health experience required
- At least 3 months of OASIS documentation experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Active HI PT license required, license required if applicable
- Wound care certification required
- Manual therapy certification preferred
- Experience with geriatrics, neurology, and orthopedics required
- Skilled in adaptive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive devices, body mechanics, and vital sign monitoring
- Experience with cardiopulmonary conditions including COPD, CHF, CABG, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, MI, and PVD
- Proficient in OASIS, plan of care development, evaluations, reassessments, and discharge documentation
- Experience with equipment including Hoyer lifts, gait belts, wheelchairs, walkers, and specialty beds
- Skilled in gait training, post-op orthopedic care, and neurological rehabilitation including stroke, dementia, and Parkinson's disease
- Wound care and lymphedema management experience preferred
- Experience with NDT, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include providing home-based physical therapy care to geriatric patients
- Care encompasses assessment, treatment planning, home exercise programs, and patient/family education
- Focus areas include safety and injury prevention as well as identifying signs of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs in any color and closed-toed shoes required
- Float assignments to other Hawaiian islands are fully expense-covered
