Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 3+ years of acute care experience who is skilled in both CT and X-ray for a 13-week evening shift assignment.

Details

  • Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 123 beds
  • Radiology department with 2 CT rooms and 1 X-ray room plus 2 portable machines
  • Position interchanges between X-ray and CT based on facility needs
  • Patient population includes inpatient and ED cases only, no outpatient
  • CT cases include strokes, traumas, abdominal, COVID, CTA, angiography, contrast and non-contrast, and vascular studies
  • X-ray duties include fluoroscopy, OR cases, and imaging of all body parts
  • Average of 45 scans per day with 1:1 patient ratios
  • 12-hour evening shifts, working Saturday-Sunday 9:30 AM-10:00 PM and Monday 8:30 AM-9:00 PM
  • 36 standard hours per week
  • Must be available to work 7 days a week and be flexible based on scheduling needs
  • 6-week schedule provided 4 weeks in advance with weekend rotation based on need
  • On-call requirements with a 30-45 minute response time
  • 1 holiday coverage required during the contract
  • Works independently at night without additional support on-site
  • Uses Epic for charting and McKesson PACS system
  • GE and Toshiba CT scanners, Fuji portable and Cannon X-ray equipment

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute care setting required
  • First-time travelers considered if they have 3+ years of acute care experience
  • Current BLS and ARRT certification required
  • Active WI license required (license required if applicable)
  • CT stroke and trauma experience required
  • Portable X-ray and portable X-ray trauma experience required
  • Skills in IV access (preferred), power injection, and CTA required for CT
  • Experience with GE or Toshiba CT scanners preferred
  • Experience with Fuji or Cannon X-ray equipment and fluoroscopy required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Must be a strong, independent candidate able to work without direct support during night shifts

Additional Information

  • Perform CT and X-ray imaging across trauma, stroke, and general inpatient/ED cases
  • Support provided by the Supervisor of Imaging and Director of Imaging, Cardiovascular Service Line
  • 4 days of orientation, including meeting with the supervisor and hands-on training with X-ray and CT techs
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Adequate PPE provided, including N95 masks and access to PAPR
  • Scrubs may be any color except camo or denim, and hoodies are not permitted
  • Free parking available in designated areas
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
  • Former Advocate Health employees must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
