Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health and SNF setting requiring 1+ year of experience and BLS certification.

Details

  • Work across SNF and Home Health settings, including Grand Island SNF, Hastings SNF, and surrounding Home Health areas
  • Day shift schedule, either Monday-Friday or a shifted schedule (Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday)
  • 8-hour shifts with 40 guaranteed hours per week (or 36)
  • Supervise 2 COTAs as part of care team
  • Onsite Therapy Supervisor available for support
  • Uses Net Health and HCHB charting systems
  • Productivity expectations of 82% for SNF therapists and 90% for Home Health (includes drive and documentation time)
  • Reporting location based in Grand Island

Requirements

  • Active OT license required for state of practice (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • New graduates will be considered
  • Prior experience in rehabilitation or geriatrics setting preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

Additional Information

  • Administer therapeutic interventions and develop individualized client care plans
  • Assess client needs and document observations and services provided
  • Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members regarding client status and orders
  • Train clients, family members, and staff on interventions and equipment use
  • Supervise therapy assistants in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Follow infection control, safety standards, and appropriate bag techniques
  • Maintain client privacy, confidentiality, and self-esteem throughout care
  • Candidates must live within an 80-mile radius, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
