Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab/EP Radiologic Technologist with required cath lab experience and ARRT(R) certification for a night-shift Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures role.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures department performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, EP device, peripheral vascular, neuro interventional, and interventional radiology procedures
  • Adult patient population undergoing procedures such as left/right heart catheterization, PCI, pericardiocentesis, coronary angiogram, temporary pacemaker insertion, Watchman, EVAR, cerebral angiogram, aneurysm treatment, STEMI, and stroke intervention
  • Utilizes adjunctive tools including IVUS, FFR/iFR, lithotripsy, Impella, IABP, OCT, Rotarex, HawkOne, Penumbra, EKOS, and Inari
  • Uses PACS system for image transfer and basic troubleshooting
  • Night shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts, 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • On-call duties on a rotating basis including weekends and holidays
  • Required to float to all areas of the department including Prep and Recovery as needed
  • 20-week contract assignment

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT(R) registration required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • IEMA Radiography License required for Illinois practice (license required if applicable)
  • Cath lab experience required
  • Neuro interventional, IR, and EP experience a plus
  • Ability to perform venipuncture, IV line placement, and administer contrast material
  • Manual dexterity to handle small supplies and perform detailed technical work
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and document accurately

Additional Information

  • Anticipates procedure setup needs, scrubs, circulates, and monitors cath lab, EP, and IR cases
  • Achieves hemostasis at vascular access sites and monitors patients for procedural complications
  • Adheres to ALARA principles to maintain radiation safety for staff and patients
  • Assists in training new staff as needed
  • Expected to independently take call within 6 months of starting
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract period
  • Returning Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning
