Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with required cardiac catheterization lab experience for a cardiac cath/special procedures unit.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Cath/Special Procedures unit
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, electrophysiology devices, peripheral vascular, neuro interventional, and interventional radiology procedures
- Night shift schedule of 4x10s from 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 20-week contract length
- Call rotation for weekends and holidays
- May be required to float to all areas of the department including Prep and Recovery
Requirements
- Cath Lab experience required
- Neuro Interventional, IR, and EP experience is a plus
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology required
- IEMA Radiography License (Illinois) required if applicable
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT(R) registration required
- Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately
Additional Information
- Administer contrast material via existing IV line or venipuncture and recognize/respond to hypersensitivity reactions
- Circulate, scrub, and/or monitor cardiac cath, neuro interventional, peripheral vascular, structural, IR, and EP device procedures including Watchman cases
- Utilize adjunctive tools such as IVUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Impella, IABP, OCT, Rotarex, HawkOne, Penumbra, EKOS, and Inari
- Perform procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, pericardiocentesis, coronary angiogram, temporary pacemaker insertion, EVAR, cerebral angiogram, aneurysm treatment with flow diverters and coils, and STEMI/stroke intervention
- Achieve hemostasis at vascular access sites and monitor patients for complications
- Verify successful image transfer to PACS and troubleshoot basic PACS issues
- Follow ALARA principles to maintain staff and patient safety during invasive procedures
- Expected to take call independently within 6 months
- May assist in training new staff
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
