Description
American Traveler is looking for a Physical Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit, requiring 2+ years of acute care/inpatient rehab experience and a current NC PT license.
Details
- Inpatient Rehabilitation unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Patient population includes orthopedic, spinal, and neurologic conditions such as post-op joint replacements, spinal surgery, stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Acute Care/Inpatient Rehab experience required
- NC Board of PT License required (license required if applicable)
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- BLS certification required
- Skilled in patient assessment, body mechanics, orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation techniques
- Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing initial evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and documenting patient progress
- Facilitates patient mobility using safe patient handling techniques and equipment
- Provides patient and family education on treatment procedures and home care
- Supervises physical therapist assistants and techs, and may mentor students or new employees
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to coordinate care
- Does not accept local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
- Does not require prior travel experience
