Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of interventional cardiac cath lab experience for a 12-week travel assignment.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting
- 1:1 patient ratio
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Weekend requirement
- On-call requirement with 30 minute call time, approximately 13.5 hours per week with rotating weekday call days
- Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP, IVUS, IMPELLA, ASD closures, rotablator atherectomy, EP studies, cardiac ablation, mapping, cardioversion, and pacemaker insertion
- Also performs biopsies, CVC/PICC/tunneled HD catheter placements, fistulograms, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, drain placements, ureteral stents, nephrostomy tubes, thrombectomies, thrombolysis, Y-90 treatments, and embolizations
- Uses Siemens single and bi-plane C-Arm and GE ultrasound equipment
- Epic EMR experience required
- May be subject to floating between facilities within the health system if requested by the unit
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of direct experience required, with 2+ years preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Associate Degree in Applied Sciences; BSN required
- ARRT (R) certification required
- Illinois license required in hand at time of consideration; emergency or pending licenses not accepted (license required if applicable)
- BLS required through AHA
- ACLS required through AHA within 6 months of hire
- IEMA licensure required
- CCI RCES and CCI RCIS certifications preferred
- Omnicell and Epic experience required
- Skills checklist and 2 professional references required, with one reference from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and sterile scrub technique required
- Must be competent in caring for middle adult and older adult patient populations
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment set up, room circulating, scrubbing and maintaining sterile field, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Adheres to infection control practices including isolation precautions, PPE, and sterile technique
- First-time travelers not typically considered due to 2+ years of experience preference
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be added afterward
- Accepts local candidates within a 75 mile radius at a local rate
- Non-licensed direct patient caregivers not currently listed as eligible in the IL Healthcare Worker Registry must travel to Illinois for mandatory in-state fingerprinting prior to start date
