Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist (OT) Home Health in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This position involves providing outpatient therapy services to patients primarily discharged from hospitalization or nursing facilities. The OT works as part of an interdisciplinary team, contributing clinical expertise to support patient recovery and functional independence. The assignment starts on 08/31/2026, with the expectation of full-time hours.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: State license in Iowa, two years of previous OT experience, work history/resume, skills checklist completed within 1 year, license verification, copy of certifications, at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
- Preferred Qualifications: Home health experience is preferred but not necessary; Epic electronic medical record experience is preferred
- Additional Information:
- The assignment involves working with a patient population requiring short-term therapy after hospitalization or nursing home stays
- There is one physical therapist and one certified occupational therapy assistant on staff, along with an occupational therapist and OTC for coverage within a 50-mile radius of Fort Dodge, IA
- Weekly team meetings occur virtually; monthly in-person meetings
- Orientation includes general organization orientation, two days of Epic training, and ride-along/shadow visits, with support from a therapy manager for the first few weeks
- The position is open to first-time travelers and requires mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use
