Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Technologist position in Tacoma, Washington, involves supporting catheterization laboratory procedures within a dedicated cardiac suite. This role requires proficient technical skills to assist with right and left heart catheterizations, structural heart interventions, and vascular cases. The position involves working as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, starting on 08/31/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or related environment. Certification in ACLS, BLS, and ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Knowledge of IABP and Impella insertion procedures. Experience with sedation, Phase 1 recovery, ICU or PACU settings is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic health record system familiarity and GE imaging equipment knowledge. Experience working in a team environment across multiple suites within a combined unit.
- Additional Information: The role covers cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) procedures, with the possibility of floating between labs. Scrubbing, monitoring, documenting, and assisting with advanced interventions such as TAVR and mitral clip are core responsibilities. The team-based approach may involve working past normal shift hours to complete cases.
- Certifications: ACLS, ARRT, BLS, and verification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- On-call and Shift Details: On call 8-10 days within a 6-week period; work hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Additional Notes: Candidates should demonstrate team orientation and flexibility. Prior experience with prep and recovery is recommended, and working past scheduled hours might be necessary to finish cases.
