Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients' abilities and limitations, establishing individualized plans of treatment and goals based on functional skills, joint mobility, gait, muscle strength, coordination, and sensation testing.
• Implement physical therapy according to the established treatment plan, utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques within the scope of physical therapy practice.
• Educate patients and/or caregivers regarding evaluation findings, therapy goals, home programs, and injury prevention strategies.
• Collaborate and co-treat with interdisciplinary patient care team members to integrate physical therapy with overall patient care and set treatment objectives.
• Re-evaluate patient progress, make recommendations regarding discharge, and ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
• Supervise patient care activities of aides, assistants, students, and volunteers, and participate in departmental inservices, staff meetings, and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license to practice in the State of Iowa.
• Graduate of an APTA-accredited college or university with a certificate, master's degree, or doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations professionally in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience treating patients across all age groups with neurological, burn/wound, or musculoskeletal conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Experience with adaptive equipment recommendation, justification, and coordination of delivery.
• Familiarity with ergonomic assessments and home or work environment evaluations.
