Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for a combination IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab.

Details

  • Work in a combination lab performing interventional radiology, cardiology, vascular, and EP procedures (approximately 80% IR, 10% cardiology/EP, 10% vascular)
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Patient diagnoses include device implants such as pacemakers (PPM) and ICDs
  • Perform scrubbing, circulating, and telemetry monitoring during procedures
  • Use equipment including GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site S2000 Ultrasound, IABP, and Impella
  • 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • No floating requirement
  • Weekend requirement of every third weekend
  • Call requirement of a minimum of 7 call days per month, typically two call days per week for two weeks each month plus one call weekend per month
  • Call team consists of three staff members including one RN
  • Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs, with IR callback time determined by procedure type

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required, with significant IR experience necessary as the role is 90% IR
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required
  • ARRT or RCIS certification required
  • ARRT Advanced certification, RCES, or RCIS with medical experience preferred
  • Skilled in EKG lead placement preferred
  • Experience scrubbing and circulating in IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
  • Experience with vascular studies including carotid stenting
  • Experience with genitourinary procedures including catheter/drain exchange, biliary drainage, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, renal artery stent placement, and ureteral stent placement
  • Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including left and right heart catheterization
  • Experience with abdominal and pelvic procedures including mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • Experience with kyphoplasties and biopsies preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • NC or Compact license accepted pending at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Assist providers in performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
  • Medication administration is performed by RN only
  • Techs start directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed
  • Unit orientation is 40 to 80 hours
  • Scrubs are provided
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Travel pairs are allowed if on different units and disclosed, with candidates needing their own transportation and flexibility for different schedules
  • Previous PERM, PRN, or EP employees of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying, with facility rehire approval required
  • No RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment due to orientation
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday, with additional RTO requiring facility approval
  • No additional RTO can be requested after signing
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • No holiday RTO is permitted for this role
