Step into a day leading precision and accountability

As the Quality Inspection Lead, you guide the 1st-shift inspection team through a rhythm of meticulous checks and decisive problem-solving. Your morning begins with a quick huddle to set priorities, then moves into overseeing incoming material checks and reviewing overnight results. Midday finds you partnering with production and engineering to resolve nonconformances, approving FAIs, and steering CAPA efforts. By afternoon, you’re coaching inspectors, validating final inspections, and tracking KPIs that shape continuous improvement across the department.

Core responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of quality inspectors on 1st shift, ensuring clarity, consistency, and high performance.
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to maintain rigorous standards.
  • Ensure adherence to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements (AS9100 experience preferred).
  • Review and approve inspection reports, first article inspections (FAIs), and non-conformance documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality to resolve issues and strengthen processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Train, mentor, and develop inspection personnel to elevate capability and consistency.
  • Monitor KPIs and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years in a quality leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Solid background in inspection within precision machining or aerospace environments.
  • Fluency in GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and use of inspection tools (CMM experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO-based quality systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
