Job Description
Openwork is currently hiring a Warehouse Associate / Shipping & Receiving Specialist for a growing and established company that values hard work, teamwork, and reliability. If you're an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys staying active, operating forklifts, and ensuring products get where they need to go accurately and on time, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
In this role, you'll play a key part in the day-to-day warehouse operation by receiving inventory, preparing shipments, managing outgoing orders, and helping maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
What You'll Be Doing- Pull, verify, and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Package, label, and stage products for delivery with a high level of accuracy
- Coordinate and schedule outgoing shipments with carriers
- Ensure all shipping paperwork and documentation is completed correctly
- Receive incoming inventory and inspect products for quality and accuracy
- Safely operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and store materials
- Organize warehouse inventory and maintain clean storage areas
- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or damaged goods
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding shipping priorities and order status
- Follow all safety procedures and warehouse best practices
- Contribute to a positive team environment while working independently to meet daily goals
- Previous warehouse and shipping/receiving experience required
- Forklift experience required (certification required)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Experience using shipping software, inventory systems, or warehouse management systems is a plus
- Basic computer skills and comfort managing shipping documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday
- Inventory control and cycle counting
- Freight scheduling and carrier coordination
- Fast-paced warehouse or distribution environments
- Problem-solving and process improvement
