About this job
Job Description
Chapin Furniture is looking for a creative and enthusiastic leader to manage our Interior Design and Sales Team. Our home base is our 30,000 square foot retail showroom located in Chapin, SC, near Lake Murray, just outside the state capital of Columbia. Founded in 2002, we have established ourselves as one of the premier providers of interior design and home furnishings in our region. Chapin was recently ranked as one of the top ten lake communities in the Southeastern United States by Southern Living, and is a major destination for relocation, providing many opportunities for design and home furnishings service.
We are a family owned business, and the owners are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the store, but require our store manager to provide the primary leadership for our team. The nature of our business includes retail sales of home furnishings, mattresses, rugs, home decor, and interior design services. A good understanding of these elements, as well as the skills to lead and encourage our team to provide our customers these services with excellence is needed. Training and/or previous management experience in our industry required.
Our sales manager must also be able to embrace our core values, and help lead our team in fulfilling these core values in the with each other in the workplace, and with our customers. These five core values are based on Biblical Principles and Family Values, and are as follows:
1. Integrity- Being honest, trustworthy and credible
2. Creativity- Inspiring others through updated and changing décor and ideas. We celebrate classic style, but don’t settle for what always has been. We want to be relevant, here and now.
3. Service- Using our gifts to serve others. Serve others as we would want to be served (the Golden Rule).
4. Growth- Like a tree, if we are not growing, we are dying. Individual. Business. Team. We make efforts to water and feed the tree. Learn and Grow.
5. Ownership- Responsibility, accountability, empowerment, pride. We don’t own the customer. We DO OWN up to our mistakes, and attempt to make things right when they go wrong. There is pride in doing the right thing.
We are a Family Owned Business and our core values are based on Biblical Principles and Family Values. Our work hours reflect these values by offering a family-friendly work week that includes Sundays off, and normal business hours of 10AM-6PM.
We have two decades of Designing and Selling to the Chapin and Greater Columbia region. Considered a premier destination for Interior Design and Home Furnishings in the Greater Columbia, SC market, we strategically relocated and built our 45,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art location at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and I-26, at Exit 91 in Chapin in May of 2016.
We are a growing, thriving team, not settling for status quo when it comes to design and home furnishings, and we do everything possible to help our clients create the spaces they will truly love. We care about our clients, and focus on a relationship-centered approach to Design and Selling.
