THE UNIQUE MEDCARE CAREER PATH: MedCare Ambulance is owned and operated by MedFlight Ohio, which gives MedCare partners a unique opportunity to access a career path that could lead to Paramedic positions on our Mobile Intensive Care Units and Rotor Wing Crews. 

(Full-Time, Various Shifts Available)

Location: Mansfield, OH and surrounding areas
Compensation: $20.09/hour and up (based on experience)

Hiring Bonus:

• $5,000 for Full-Time (Reserved for the first 5 Paramedics hired)

Shift Differentials:

• Mon–Thurs, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM + $4/hr
• Fri–Sun, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM + $5/hr
• Sat–Sun, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM + $4/hr

Run Bonus*

• $30/run for every run over station per shift goal

Tuition Reimbursement

Just earned your EMT-B certification?
We’ll help you start strong with up to $1,500 in tuition reimbursement — half after six months, half after one year of service.

What You’ll Do

As an EMT with MedCare Ambulance, you’ll be a vital part of our mission to deliver premier medical transportation. You will:

• Provide high-quality patient care during emergency and non-emergency transports.
• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and first responders.
• Represent MedCare with courtesy, professionalism, and compassion in every interaction.

What is Required

• Current Ohio EMT-A or EMT-B License and American Heart Association CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in high-stress situations.
• Physical capability to assist with patients up to 350+ lbs.
• Must be able to sit driving for long periods of time.
• Comprehensive knowledge of emergency transportation procedures and a thorough understanding of their application in the medical transportation environment
• Commitment to teamwork, excellence, and patient-centered care.

MedCare Ambulance is a not-for-profit medical transportation service headquartered in Columbus, Ohio that began operations in 2010. Today, MedCare is proud to now be a wholly-owned subsidiary of, and operated by, Ohio Medical Transportation, Inc. supporting the communities it serves, joining MedFlight’s valued network of exceptional ground transportation partners, and helping to expand MedFlight’s Patients First focus.

MedCare was created to meet the demand by MedFlight’s consortium health systems, OhioHealth and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and other Ohio hospital systems for greater oversight into the level and quality of care their patients receive from the point of discharge to their arrival at their next destination, be it home or another facility for further rehabilitation. MedCare operates seven bases throughout central and southern Ohio with an average of 50 vehicles on the road per day to meet the needs of patients and their caregivers. On average, MedCare completes 75,000 service requests per year.
