Custodian – Wednesday through Sunday

Locations: Lincoln, RI 02865 and Pawtucket, RI 02860
Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; some flexibility available
Pay: $16.50–$18.00 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities in Lincoln and Pawtucket. This position is responsible for routine cleaning and sanitation, minor maintenance support, event setup, and general facility upkeep.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and interacts professionally with staff, members, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, offices, locker rooms, hallways, common areas, and other assigned spaces
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, dust, and polish floors and surfaces
• Empty and clean trash and recycling containers
• Wash windows and perform general cleaning throughout the facility
• Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies
• Clean and organize custodial closets and storage areas
• Move, rearrange, and clean furniture and fixtures
• Assist with meeting and special-event setup
• Perform basic groundskeeping, snow removal, painting, and pool-cleaning duties as needed
• Use cleaning products, chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
• Identify and report property damage, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and needed repairs
• Help ensure the building and property remain safe and secure during the assigned shift
• Respond appropriately to emergencies based on training
• Assist with special projects at other facilities when necessary
• Attend required staff meetings and training sessions
• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license required
• At least six months of custodial, janitorial, or related experience preferred
• Knowledge of general cleaning methods, supplies, chemicals, and equipment
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Ability to document and report maintenance or repair requests
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently
• Must be available during occasional facility shutdown periods when needed
