Job Summary 

The Assistant to the Production Supervisor will provide support with daily production operations, assist with coordinating shift activities, and help ensure employees follow company safety, quality, and production standards. This position will work closely with the Production Supervisor to maintain efficient workflow and support the overall success of the production department. 

Essential Job Duties

• Assist the Production Supervisor with daily production activities during assigned shifts.
• Help coordinate employee assignments and communicate daily production goals.
• Support production operations by monitoring workflow and reporting any issues to the Production Supervisor.
• Help ensure products are properly identified, weighed, labeled, and moved to the warehouse.
• Assist in identifying production or equipment issues and communicate them to the appropriate departments.
• Notify the Maintenance Department when equipment requires attention or repair.
• Help promote a safe work environment by encouraging compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in verifying that production paperwork is complete, accurate, and signed as required.
• Support the training and onboarding of new production employees as directed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Assist the Production Supervisor with training and supporting production employees on the assigned shift.
• Help coordinate daily workflow and employee assignments to ensure production goals are met.
• Provide feedback to the Production Supervisor regarding employee performance and development.

Skills and Experience

• Basic understanding of production operations or the ability to quickly learn manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to identify and communicate production issues to the Production Supervisor.
• Willingness to learn leadership skills and support daily production activities.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), to complete reports and production paperwork.

 Education 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior exceptional work experience with the company preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse the production facility.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.

Must have worked with Raw materials in a cold environment.
